contentment of knowing contentment is contment

Location: Beijing- China Care and the Great Wall!!
Today was our first full day in china!!
we are staying in an apartment complex which is very nice. the boys have their own room and the girls have beds in the common room. there is one seperate room with one bunk bed.
we had to wake up at 7 a.m. but we were all up way before because of the time change. we started the morning off talking about lifeworks and about the children then took a tour of all the orphange units. after the tour we went to our designated units to start our volunteering.
me (taylor) and virginia were the slaves today! they were in charge of making breakfast, lunch, and all the cleaning in between.
the babies were ADORABLE!!! we all had a ton of fun holding the babies and playing with them.
after lunch time we made our way to the bus that took us to THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA! everyone made it to the top except me (sammie) and caroline (we did our best though). Everyone that did make it to the top was very proud of themselves and came back to the bus sweating like pigs. We had our little 'whats up with that' chit chat where we learned that the chinese really do eat human fetus.
We were able to stop at Jenny Lou's which is a food mart that has westernized food. everyone got something they were used to.
Directly from there, we went to dinner.
Tonight for dinner we had fetus. (just kidding mom). Actually we had lemon chicken, beef, greens, white and fried rice and FRIED BANANAS!
We were all able to experience the chinese public bathrooms. (hole in ground)
Anywho, we are now sitting around in the common room making braclets. Cason is obviously the best at it.
TO PATS MOM:your son is a braclet sabatoger.
